i keep asking myself this question recently.. Watching TV, reading the newspaper, listening to radio; every time i turn to one of these mass media formats, i keep seeing dumber and dumber ads trying to get the masses to shell out more cash for things they will never use. Every time i turn on TV and commericals come on i see some new totally useless product being sold and people lying to your face saying " its the best thing i've ever done!', even if the ad is for a dung covered punji spikes to impale yourself on.. And now that it's christmas (which has been raped and pillaged to the point where they now sell pre-lit, plastic christmas trees for people who just want to skullfuck any tradition or culture that has been built over the past century or two), the maddness is nearly non-stop.. I worked retail during christmas 2 years back and learned a very unsettling secret about christmas.. it's not about the birth of jesus, or giving, caring or any of the bullshit that were told it is for. It's about receiving for no reason other than the fact that the corporations want more money (but then again, who doesn't!?)


If it's not that, its yet another movie that shows nothing but tits, ass and explsions.. Nothing new - or interesting, but for some really odd reason it sells and people will spend millions of dollars, keeping this machine going. Why is it that I dont buy into this culture, even though i've had it beamed at me 24/7 for the past 23 years with no effect? Why dont i see an ad for an ionised bracelet that costs 3 payments of 39.99 (wow! is that all it costs for a lump of steel!?) .. am i crazy? or is everyone else?

By the way im in no way religious and never have been. I'm just sick of the stupidity of people and how easily people can, and do rip off the general public..
